5D Diamond Art Kits Special Shaped Diamond Painting, Diamond Art Explored

Are you like me and have you seen lots of adverts for Diamond Painting when looking for embroidery and cross stitch kits online? 

Or perhaps you keep walking past the aisle in your local craft store and see Diamond Painting kits. 

 As we source new crafts to MillyRose Crafts we decided to look at Diamond Art, or Diamond Painting as it is also known, in more detail as it has been around for quite some time now and is becoming more and more popular. 

 “Doing” Diamond Painting seems to be similar to cross-stitching and painting by numbers although I have to say that keeping track of the pattern is simpler than Cross-stitch in my opinion.  

 Importantly this craft, like all the other crafts at MillyRose Crafts,  is fun, is easy to start, suits beginners and more experienced craft lovers and is a huge stress buster! 

 Diamond painting involves sticking hundreds of multi-coloured rhinestones on a canvas. Each detail on the canvas is numbered, and all you have to do is stick the corresponding piece of rhinestone to the detail. As every detail is already color-coded, there is no need for you to plan how to colour the painting. 

 The kits at MIllyRose Crafts are mainly 5D Diamond Painting kits which refers to the facets on the rhinestones.  5D ones have more facets and therefore are brighter and help to give a piece more depth. 

Each kit comes with everything you need to start this craft and as you become more proficient (hooked!) if you wish you can add to your Diamond Art toolbox as there are many tools and accessories available. 

 Like all crafts hobbies at MillyRose Crafts, diamond painting can be a form of therapy, a way to relieve stress for a few hours.  In our ever quickening world where we never seem to stop, losing ourselves in a craft such as Diamond Painting can only be good and it can aid anxiety, depressing and overwhelm. 

 The best part is that Diamond painting does not require hours and hours of training, but it does require a lot of patience.  

 This can also be a family or group craft whereby you can share a few hours with friends, family, loved ones and regain some of that lost “together time”
