Scaling Up: Small Wins and Finding the Rhythm
In my last post, I talked about the importance of being kind to ourselves—especially when the "fog" rolls in and the mountain ahead looks a little too steep. This week, I decided to take my own advice. I stopped looking at the mountain and started looking at the stitches.
The Dragon Rises On Tuesday, the Cottontail & Whiskers crochet "Dragon Scarf" became my sanctuary. I’ll admit, I was intimidated by the crocodile stitch. Looking at those scales, I thought, "Is this where I get stuck?" But then, something wonderful happened. Once the first two sets of scales were in place, the rhythm took over.
It is looking amazing—a relief, as I have two more to create after this one! It’s a powerful reminder that the hardest part of any journey is usually just the first two "scales." Once the pattern is set, the rest is just steady, beautiful progress.
A Gift Back to the Community That sense of "flow" is something I want everyone in our crafty community to experience. I know it’s been a tough climate lately for many of us.
With the recent settling of tariffs and import costs, I spent yesterday reworking our pricing for the Essential Cross Stitch Collections. I’ve been able to reduce the base costs and, more importantly, add a Multi-Buy Discount (15% off 2 kits, 20% off 3+). My hope is that this makes it just a little bit easier for you to claim some much-needed "me time." Nothing should stand in the way of creativity—it’s the best medicine I know.
Coming Soon... Between the scarf scales and the price updates, a tiny dragonfly landed in the studio. I’ve been working on a Chan Hua (Silk Wrapped) Dragonfly. It’s a delicate, ancient art, and I can’t wait to share the details with you.
Keep an eye out for Monday’s "Notes from the Silk Road" for a deeper look at this winged beauty and also the little blue flower in my profile image.
Until then, keep stitching,
