We are really loving our new MillyRose Crafts wool needle felting mat.

Having tried many types of pads; white plastic feel ones, very hard grey foam ones and the blue ones, burlap/hessian ones, foam and rice filled ones, at MillyRose Crafts we include the blue foam pads in our kits and they great and last a good while.

We did however want to find something that is more durable and also more environmentally friendly.  

Our suppliers have been experimenting with different wool/synthetic blends and we are really pleased to say that the combination they have come up the perfect balance.

Our MillyRose Crafts wool needle felting pads are 80% wool and 20% polyester; 100% wool, whilst desirable, isn't practical because it will felt down and not last long and when you, our customer, is choosing to invest in a more durable, and more expensive, product we want it to last for you.  

Having trialled the pads whilst making new kits I am really pleased with the mats and am sure you will be too.

As with all pads, when you felt some wool is left on the mat.  With these new pads it is very easily removed, either with your hand, a damp cloth or a brush.  I have made quite a lot of pieces now using my pad and there is no indentation where I have been felting.
