Needle felting needles are fragile and can break easily, whether used by experts or those new to felting and is always handy to have a set of spare needles
Our needle sets are as follows:
Triangular needle set: basic needle felting needles
3 x 36g triangular needles
3 x 38g triangular needles
3 x 40g triangular needles.
NB: the 40g needles are the smallest and have less barbs.
Generally we use the lower gauge needles for felting core wool and larger items and work down to the higher gauge for smaller and more intricate work.....backwards way round I know!
Available as a stand alone item or as part of the deluxe needle felting tool kit.
Twisted Needles
These are twisted triangular needles and they have more barbs which makes the felting process faster. They also give a neater finish and you will have less holes in the surface of your felted piece.
Star Needles
These needles have barbs on 4 sides and again makes the felting process much faster as they pull the fibres for four sides as you felt. They make fast work of your felting.
Gros-Beckert Needles
Gros-Beckert needles are well known as the industry best for felting. This German company specialised in making needles both for hand felting and also for much larger machines.
The barbs on these needles are sharper and will allow a much cleaner and faster finish to your pieces.
Whilst our standard needles are very god quality, these needles will make a difference to your work. I would recommend using the standard needles whilst you are getting used to the craft and then invest in these needles later. I tend to use my standard needles when working with armature wire, especially when creating the core of the piece as there is a tendency to snap needles of they stab against the wire.
